Orie Givens is a global communications senior professional with more than 10 years of corporate communications experience. He is also the Chief Editorial Officer and Creator of Radio Queer Minded, an LGBTQ-people-of-color focused news and content website, and host of Queer State of Mind in New York City. He is a freelance journalist and columnist for outlets in the US and Canada, including permanent assignment as the Race and Ethnicity Correspondent for The Advocate.

Orie studied Linguistics at The Ohio State University and Broadcast News & Urban Reporting at City University New York Graduate School of Journalism. He has created work in all types of media, focusing on multimedia projects involving audio and/or video, social justice and urban affairs, minority issues, business and culture.
