Naomi LaChance is a motivated and meticulous journalist with an interest for the way an event affects the members of a community.

She is an intern at the Berkshire Eagle, a reporter at the Red Hook Observer and an editor at the Bard Free Press. She is also a recipient of the Daniel Pearl Berkshire Scholarship and the Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Scholarship.

She relishes each piece of the writing process— listening to members of the community, finding an angle, writing the piece and editing copy. She has an interest in mastering different styles for different pieces of writing and different publications, whether it be a feature on theater or a breaking news piece on a police raid.

Gabby Giffords stirs Bard graduates

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords delivered the commencement address at Bard College’s 153rd graduation ceremony on Sat., May 25. And although it was a rainy, dreary day in Annandale, Giffords' short speech in a crowded tent was stirring.

Cranna outlines Tivoli’s issues in inaugural address
