Maria Munoz

Art & Culture Editor

Germany

Statement

María Muñoz is a cultural agent educated in History of Arts and Telecommunications Engineering, that hybridity is part of her nature. Straddling between Berlin and Barcelona, she is a professor at Ramon Llull University Barcelona and at the same time she manages cultural projects — cultural events design & management, expository works, classes and conferences, communication tasks — of different conceptual and geographical nature. She writes and interview artists — woking in any medium —regularly for different media focusing on contemporary art and thinking, emphasizing the confluence between art, socio-politics in the digital age, and technology. Her studies in engineering and art have shaped her a critical imagination pairing it with her already rational and extravagant one.

Publications

Since November 2019 she is board member, editor and communications head at the digital platform A*desk, Art & Critical Thinking Platform. In June 2019 she goes from being a collaborator to art editor in Neo2 magazine.

From 2015 she began regular contributions as art editor in well-known Spanish magazine Neo2 (print and online); international METAL Magazine (print and online): A*desk, a publication of international renown in contemporary art criticism and contemporary art platform and magazine Chrom-art. She has also collaborated with El Estado Mental (Madrid), Design Editorial Santa i Cole (Barcelona), Zoom Magazine (North Africa), Solemne (Guatemala-Mexico), Blau Magazine (Germany) among others.
