Maira M. Moura is a Brazilian writer of speculative literature. She is the author of the books “O Jardim Animado” ("The moving garden", 2015) and “Tóquio após o segundo
grande terremoto de Kanto” ("Tokyo After the Second Great Kanto Earthquake", 2020 - third prize at Kindle Geek Literature 2022 Award). She also has short stories published in several collections and magazines in Portuguese, English, and Japanese.

With literary references ranging from the classics to Magic Realism and Fantasy, Maira reads Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Junji Ito, Jorge Luis Borges, Neil Gaiman, Nelson Rodrigues, and others. She moved to Japan in her mid-twenties where she has been working as an English teacher. Since then, she has been integrating Japanese history and legends into her writing.
