The 'X' is ready for its close-up on the border

Anyone who has driven down 1-10 or the Border Highway has seen the giant, rust-colored X jutting out of the Juarez landscape, but not many seem to know what the structure actually is. Some assume "Mexico" will eventually be spelled out, with each letter appearing in a different city; others imagine that the X symbolizes a cry to end the violence in Juarez.

I LOVE MY COUNTRY AS MANY WHO HAVE BEEN HERE FOR generations cannot. Perhaps that's because I'm the child of immigrants, raised with a conscious respect for America that many people take for granted. My parents chose this country bemuse it offered them a new life, freedom and possibilities.
