The number of Irish teenagers giving birth is at its lowest in 15 years, according to new figures released by the Central Statistics Office. A total of 1,098 teenagers gave birth in 2016, compared to 1187 in 2015. Since 2001, the total number of births to teenagers has fallen 64pc.
