Walking around aimlessly for an hour in 35 degree heat, not being able to read the street signs, walking past grumpy Germans who you fear to approach to ask for directions and your friend, who is the only one who can help you, doesn’t answer their phone… Realizing you’re lost in a foreign country is not necessarily a bad thing. It may seem dreadful in the beginning, but at the end of the day it’s not so bad.

I’ve had to barter in places like Bali, Vanuatu and Malaysia, but my favourite place in the world to travel to, so far, is Thailand! The food is fantastic, the people are friendly and the value for money is unbeatable! Ok, so you may have overpopulated areas,unmanaged telephone wires everywhere and un-perfumed aromas that fill the streets, but the culture and experiences outweigh any negatives that come to mind. I mean look at this picture (below), how can you not love this? .
The ICE trains or Inner City Express Trains are awesome, to say the least. I rate them higher than flying! The seats are super big and comfy, always have a spare seat next to you and there is even Wi-Fi on longer journeys. The tickets are even cheaper than flying, for example from Frankfurt to Amsterdam return would cost you around 100 euro depending on the time you travel. Sometimes you can get special fares that save you even more! If you have the option, I would choose the ICE train any...
I remember the buzz in the air as I checked in, the adrenaline as I boarded the plane and the excitement to know I was going to another country. Such positive energy filled the air and it meant could finally escape from reality. Escaping reality combined with experiencing new cultures and way of life created not only a burning desire to travel, but a passion for travel!
When I set to travel the world, there is one thing I wanted to make sure of. If there was a chance to experience something totally new I would just go for it. Well, lucky me, what I was about to experience is unlike anything back home is Australia.
