A Veterinary Manual written for Animal Shelter Workers
For the past 20 years, I devoted my professional life to helping animals in need as a licensed veterinary technician, but, 8 years ago, I made a radically drastic decision that took me from living life as a “hands on” nurse for sick and injured animals to a very different, but undeniably less stressful life as a freelance writer. Now, instead of triaging emergencies and placing IV catheters, I study and celebrate words and the beautiful ways in which they can be arranged.
During my tenure as a writer, I have published articles in respected veterinary / animal health journals, ghost written for 30+articles for healthy living blog, contributed music review articles for RVA magazine (Rchmond, VA), and I am currently in the process of publishing my first book with CRC / Routledge Publishing House entitled:
"The Animal Shelter's Guide to Medical Care for Dogs and Cats ; How to treat and when to refer".
I can, and will, write about any topic that is tossed my way, however I am most excited when tasked to work on subjects about which I am passionate and already have a fair amount of knowledge, such as:
* Veterinary medicine / Animal Welfare
* Cannabis related topics
* Music, television, literature and movie critique / review
* Food related topics (cooking as well as ethical issues)
* Social and criminal justice issues

If I had not experienced first hand all of the atypical and bizarre events that make up the peculiar story that is my life, I doubt that I would believe much of it to be true, and I would praise the creative mind that would be capable of conjuring such imaginative fiction.
