Faculty Tensions Rise at State of the College Address

President Mercer addressed the students, staff and faculty of Ramapo College last Wednesday in Friends Hall for the State of the College Address. The bulk of the discussion focused on teachers' contracts. Other topics for the speech included the freshman class, sexual assault prevention, construction, international opportunities and green initiatives.

Survivor of Rwandan Genocide Shares Her Story

Eugenie Mukeshimana, survivor of the Rwandan genocide and founder of the Genocide Survivors Network, brought stories of her survival to Ramapo on Friday. Her lecture focused on the situations in Rwanda that led up to the genocide, how she survived and similar situations currently in Burundi.

Human Rights Concerns Arise in Olympic Preparations

The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro are set to start on Aug. 5. With the recent 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Brazil's government and the International Olympic Committee, also known as the IOC, are receiving a lot of heat for the human rights abuses correlated to the mega sporting events.
