GRANVILLE - Former New York City teacher David Garvoille was like everyone when the pandemic hit - wondering how to cope with a life on lockdown. He had recently left teaching and New York City for a new job in his home state of Wisconsin.
GRANVILLE, N.Y. ( NEWS10) - Twelve teenagers from New York City are in Granville this weekend, painting a 120-year-old schoolhouse. The summer service project is through Publicolor, a nonprofit organization in the city, helping to combat high school dropout rates. GRANVILLE, N.Y. ( NEWS10) - Hicks Orchard, New York's oldest U-Pick apple orchard, is energizing the region's live music scene with Second Saturday Concerts. The outdoor summer music series begins Saturday, June 12. "We're giving 100% of the ticket sales to the artists minus $100 to cover hiring someone to help work the door," said David Garvoille, the business development manager for the orchard.

Cideries of the American Cider Association across the United States held a "Cider-Thon" on April 30 to raise funds to restore a cidery that was obliterated in Kyiv, Ukraine, by the war. One of the cideries participating in "Help Rebuild Berryland" was Slyboro Ciderhouse at Hicks Orchard in Granville.
