Eating/Drinking
There's a wealth of pubs and bars in our major cities, meaning it's likely that the majority of us have frequented a fair few of them. However times they are a changing, so if you're getting a bit bored of traditional taps and tired old jukeboxes then look no further these quirky themed bars in Glasgow.
I have always kind of liked Pizza Express. It has that amazing optical illusion of allowing parents to take the kids out for a fun lunch whilst still pretending you are cool enough to eat pizza that actually tastes authentic and drink wine that actually tastes nice.
Given my penchant for a cocktail in the Merchant City, it was always surprising to me that I hadn't ever ventured into Central Market on Bell Street. Particularly given it won 2013′s most stylish restaurant at the Scottish Style Awards and was more recently entered into the prestigious Waitrose Good Food Guide for 2014.
Parenting
I like to think of myself as not your average mum. I like to think of myself as different to the croc-wearing, Cath Kidston brigade I see at toddler group every week. I like to tell myself that they don't like me either, that I have nothing in common with them and then I write sardonic posts on my Twitter timeline about them.
Are you an exercise freak? Do you love to spend your evenings pounding the sidewalks or doing lengths at your local pool? Or perhaps spinning is more your thing? Or do you get a buzz from lifting weights? Are you a girl who likes to take care of herself and get her heart rate up regularly?
Despite the fact my daughter is now two and a half, there are often moments when I still feel like I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Two and a half years is a long time. You would think I would have a handle on it by now.
Relationships/Dating
There are many things my 30 year old self knows now that I didn't when I was 21. I know a weekend drinking session will inevitably leave me in a state of exhaustion until the Tuesday. I know that I am comfortable with myself and my body in a way that my naive and inexperienced person wasn't 10 years ago.
I have a love/hate affair with the internet. On the one hand I adore it. I'm a self-confessed Twitter addict, I'm never off Instagram and Pinterest lets me indulge my girly side perfectly. The internet is a valuable tool for me.
There are many aspects to single parenting that can be a bit scary. I'm about to start sleep training in an attempt to get my little one to sleep in her own bed for the whole night. I'm not looking forward to the utter exhaustion that will bring about.
