Boston Herald - High School Sports
I am the second of 4 children in a South Boston family. I was born and raised in Southie, and attended high school at Boston Latin School. Through my childhood and high school, I played a variety of sports, including baseball, soccer, and my favorite, hockey. I was the starting goaltender for Boston Latin's Varsity Hockey team from 2006-2008, and was a member of the only team in the school's 370+ year history to win a Div. II State Championship (as a third string in 2004-2005).
After high school I attended college at Suffolk University, where I earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While wrapping up school I worked as a valet for VPNE Parking Solutions while networking in an effort to create a path to my future as a writer. I interned at 98.5 The Sports Hub for 2 years, and during my time there, I also worked for the NHL Network logging audio files, and wrote for ESPNBoston.com covering high school hockey, in fact covering the very teams I used to play against when I played at Boston Latin.
Now, I'm doing the same for the Boston Herald, covering a range of high school sports. I am also working for South Boston Today, a local paper where I cover hard news, human interests and local event stories, as well as sports. I am also a co-host and producer for the sports talk radio show "The Sports Blast" which airs every Saturday from 11AM-2PM on ESPN New Hampshire, 900AM Nashua, 1250AM Manchester, ESPNRadio.com, and the ESPN Radio App.
I am laying down a lot of framework and will hopefully find a way to break through in an industry I'm am highly motivated to become a part of. If there's something I know about myself, when I want something I don't stop until I get it - that's my approach to pursuing this career.
