A man who survived being buried by an avalanche in the backcountry of Banff National Park on Friday is thankful to a higher power that he is still alive. Todd Wyatt, of Lacombe, was skiing with seven other members of the Red Deer-based Parkland Cross Country Ski Club, making their way to Bow Hut, a popular backcountry ski lodge on the Wapta Icefield near Lake Louise.

From the time Mike Duffy became a senator in early 2009, until his suspension almost five years later on Nov. 4, 2013, he was deemed to have been working on 86.5 per cent of the Senate's sitting days. According to the Senator Attendance Register, Duffy missed 50 out of 372 total sitting days during the period before he was suspended.
