Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies from North Carolina A&T State University, C. Marie approaches storytelling as both art and activism. She believes in the radical power of narrative to shift culture, spark conversations, and build the communities we need to thrive.
When she's not writing, you'll find her behind the turntables as KiKitheDJ, curating soundscapes that move bodies and souls. Music and words, for C. Marie, are different languages for the same truth: that our stories—especially the ones society tries to silence—deserve to be heard, celebrated, and passed down.

The idea of being alone for many is a daunting concept. The assumed purpose of life in our spiritual dimension is connection, so when we consider how we are impacted by perpetual loneliness the critical nature of this state should be considered.
We felt that instant connection most people rarely feel. The experience of meeting a stranger, and yet at the same time feeling an energy of closeness. Music was our catalyst. We found comfort in long talks about Hip Hop, our favorite artists, and the depth that only music can give.
