Brendan F. Yu is an award-winning journalist whose work has earned recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and volleyball news outlet Off-the-Block, making him the first UCI student to earn either distinction. In his writing, he balances the technical aspects of each game while simultaneously reporting on issues that go beyond the box score. His work has also been published on Vice Sports as well as NBC News.

In addition to volleyball, he has also covered tennis, water polo, golf, soccer and basketball. Yu is well-versed in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office, and his experiences include digital production and social media outreach.
