News Stories (LBJ Express Project/Cintra US)

It's about four stories tall and as long as a city block, and it apparently has no internal bones, so it looks like a hangar for the Mountain of Judgment.
The drivers of the truck and a second car are injured in the crash; the cause is under investigation.

The $4 billion LBJ Managed Lanes Project will start construction in mid-2011 with a 2016 completion target. With 270k vehicles traveling the road daily (projected at 500k cars daily by 2020), it's a whole lot of road rage to remedy.
The massive reconstruction of LBJ Freeway has been on the books since 1987. White High School.
The North Tarrant Express Project blames distracted drivers for half of all crashes in construction zones. "I guess what goes through the mind first is that it is senseless," said Robert Hinkle, of North Tarrant Express Mobility Partners. Hinkle said the configuration of lanes can change daily and drivers are too distracted to notice.
This just in: They won't be taking down the Joe Ratcliff Pedestrian Walkway over LBJ Freeway this weekend after all. Not sure when it'll happen -- the release we just received says only "at a later date." So, not a full pardon, only a temporary reprieve from what was expected...
What if LBJ Freeway had 20 or so lanes? Imagine trying to cross 18 lanes in order to exit at Hillcrest. It sounds insane, but that is what was originally proposed for the project.
