Communication/Marketing/Social Media Specialist, Copywriter and Reporter

United States of America

With a Master’s degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University, Antranig Dereyan has experience as a copy, managing and social media editor. He covered the art, celebrity, community, foreign policy, healthcare, music, politics, religion, sports and travel beats in the digital, print, social media and television industries. He also does copy editing, creative writing, copywriting, marketing, media and public relations.

Currently, at East West Connection (there on an as-needed basis), he is doing copy editing, copywriting, content management and event planning.

Previously, but still within the healthcare field, he has worked as a content editor (AMA Style) with Epocrates and as a social media editor/manager with Michael J. Hennessy.

In his latest creative position as Communications/Marketing Specialist for HearingLife, he was responsible for all internal and external communications, including copy editing, copywriting, journalistic, quality assurance documents, marketing and PR (using AP Style). He was also in charge of brand, communication and social media strategy.

He was a writer and Editor At Larger at travelerstoday.com, where he had the responsibility of writing travel guides, using his personal travels as research, and trending news pieces. However, as the managing and social media editor, he had the duty of elevating the standards of the site by maintaining appropriate SEO practices, employing multimedia and blogging skills to enhance the story’s visibility, posting stories to social media sites--responding and engaging user reactions to gain a wider-traffic range and ensuring that the content on the CMS-controlled web portal was accurate and meaningful.

In addition, he has spent two years as media liaison and communication associate for the United States Tennis Association at the U.S Tennis Open. In this hybrid role at the USTA he was an intricate part in not only keeping the national and international media informed on updated tournament brackets, player statistics, rescheduled rain delay match times and when match play would resume, but also obtaining player interviews and helping the Communications, Marketing and Public Relations department in promoting USTA membership, fan promotions, sponsor giveaways/education, player appearances, book signings...

As a journalist, he uses his talent and english-vocabulary expertise to bring the written word to life and make deep connections with his readership.

He can be relied upon to complete any assignment domestically or abroad.

He has been trusted with high profiled jobs, like being the sole reporter on tour with the Armenian Pope and covering The Olympic Games.
