I have lived and worked in Johannesburg, London and Sydney. Despite having travelled widely, or perhaps because of it, I really enjoy the minutiae as well as the big vistas. I love to produce people stories and 'how to' content about everything from business and money, to travel and making the world better. I also enjoy getting into the nitty-gritty of corporate copy to make it more compelling. Sectors span financial services, property, media, learning and development, professional services and more.

Energy tariffs can quietly creep up, and up, and you'll be the last person to find out. Even worse, EnergyAustralia, AGL and Origin have all dropped their fixed rate electricity plans, meaning everyone will need to keep an eye on variable prices.
A recent Deloitte Millennial survey paints a picture of a pretty disgruntled lot. Fewer than one in ten believe they will ever be as well-off as their parents. In fact, many need to draw on the Bank of Mum and Dad if they even want to contemplate getting on the property ladder.
Even health insurers are now admitting that healthcare is unaffordable and thousands of Australians are letting their policies lapse. Medibank chief Craig Drummond says he has already visited branches this year and the message from customers was clear - affordability was their biggest concern.
Curbing your spending can feel like such a drag. But you don't have to say goodbye to life's pleasures. Here's how. Cancel your gym membership. Were you back on that treadmill in January but now you're losing steam? Cancel that direct debit and find some weights for home (probably very cheap on Gumtree) or a dog ...
