Chinatown in 'high exposure zone' for unregulated air pollutants, study shows

As a neighborhood wedged between two highways, Chinatown has been plagued with poor air quality for years. But a new study on the smallest known particulates of pollution has helped researchers pinpoint areas of concern to within city blocks, showing that areas with large Asian populations are more exposed to pollutants than predominantly white or non-Asian neighborhoods in Boston.

How a little mussel could help save a Merrimack River salt marsh

We got down in the mud with @massaudubon to learn about a new pilot to help save the salt marsh -- using ribbed mussels. The mussels are transplanted into degrading parts of the coastline to help keep the soil together and clean the water. The salt marsh is a critical habitat for birds and protects us from storm surge. Note: These mighty mollusks are not good for eating (like blue mussels) but ecologists are hoping they'll punch above their weight when it comes to restoring the salt marsh.

The Indian journalists fighting fake news

Indian journalist Bharat Nayak knows misinformation can have dangerous consequences. He's witnessed it too often in his home state of Jharkhand, India. According to Bharat, "Indian society has been gravely affected by 'fake news', which has contributed to a rise in hatred and violence, and horrific incidences of lynching."
