Loyola University Maryland officially acknowledged its historical ties to slavery with the Jan. 17 release of a comprehensive 27-page report detailing the Baltimore university's connections to the slave trade.

A DC Superior Court judge decided to continue holding a defendant accused of pointing a gun at the victim. There were no reported injuries from the alleged incident. The defendant is charged with a felony for assault with a dangerous weapon in a domestic violence case.
