Energy Choice Now, which released a new report this week, believes Consumers Energy and DTE Energy are monopolizing the market, causing electric rates to be higher than states that allow more choice.

BLACKMAN TWP., MI - More than a month after receiving a $36,600 pay raise that he did not want or ask for, Blackman Township Clerk David Sercombe wanted answers on how it happened. Sercombe, who voted against almost $100,000 in pay raises for himself, Supervisor Peter Jancek and former Treasurer Sherry Brockie, questioned Trustees Mark Singer and Betty Brockie, two board members who voted the pay raises.

JACKSON, MI - Consumers Energy plans to invest about $15 billion in its power operations by 2022 and touts itself as the country's fourth-largest gas utility.
