Sanne has over a decade of international experience across programming and curation, distribution, facilitation, talent development, and editorial, with a focus on short form moving image. She recently launched onzer films, through which she supports and distributes new, artist-led, socially and politically engaged work that resists formal convention. She is an editor at Talking Shorts, on the selection committee for Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, a consultant at Documentary Association of Europe, and on the board of yanco, and regularly reads for various funds and labs.
She previously managed the short film slate at Square Eyes, was programme director at Glasgow Short Film Festival, led the talent programme for the BFI Doc Society Fund, and worked for several UK and European festivals in programming and production. She has led and collaborated on various community-focused events and projects, including work with incarcerated audiences and participants, and events in partnership with unions and grassroots organisations. She's interested in working beyond traditional film and arts spaces, and in cross-sector solidarity and support networks. Sanne has served on various international festival panels and juries as well as facilitating conversations and events, and was a curator-in-residence at Q21 in Vienna.
