Robert Ellis - Best-Selling Author and Filmmaker

An internationally best-selling author, Robert Ellis has published seven crime novels, set is such cities as Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC. Living in the Los Angeles area for most of his adult life, Robert Ellis began his career as a filmmaker when he wrote and co-produced his first film, The Great Lake States, with the help of National Geographic. He also has served as writer-director in feature films and ghostwrote the final draft of Nightmare on Elm Street, Part 4.

Interested in politics since the Vietnam War, Robert Ellis has produced, written, and directed more than 1,500 television ads for political candidates. After an incident that occurred while he was gathering surveillance footage on a mobster, he decided to write crime novels. His books have been translated into almost a dozen languages and read in more than 30 countries. A regular at ThrillerFest in New York City, Robert Ellis belongs to the New York chapter of the Mystery Writers of America and the International Association of Crime Writers.

One of the first Ohio University students to garner a BFA in film, he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in film production and philosophy.
