I’m a freelance writer based in London, Ontario.

I am a former journalist. I have written stories about crimes, culture, immigrant communities and lifestyle. Presently, I maintain my own blog.

As a writer for a community newspaper in the Greater Toronto Area, I write inspiring stories of people with Filipino descent who succeeded in Canada, among other topics. Writing a profile article is something I enjoy. I love retelling their stories.

Among the well-known personalities of Filipino descent that I've written about is Judge Steve Coroza, he serves in Superior Court of Justice; Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto Health's Medical Officer; Jaime FlorCruz, former CNN Beijing bureau chief and Mogi Mogado, a sculptor famous for his 6'3" statue of Philippines' national hero, Jose Rizal in Markham, Ontario.

Leading up to the Federal elections in Canada in 2019, I interviewed the former Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen on Liberal's success on immigration policies and the party's plans.

I am also fluent in writing in Filipino. I’ve been a translator (English-Filipino) for the past 20 years.

Judge Coroza: Education is mandatory in our home

The Honourable Justice Steve Coroza is the first and only Filipino-Canadian judge appointed to the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice. His appointment as justice in Canada is a success and pride that not only he and his family are proud of, but jubilation that Filipinos around the world celebrates.

CNN's Jaime FlorCruz: A Pinoy blessed with luck

This is how, jokingly or seriously, Jaime FlorCruz, CNN's Beijing Bureau Chief answered The Philippine Reporter, when asked about how to succeed in his field. It is understandable why FlorCruz responded that way after relating his ordeal and inspiring journey, before getting to where he is now.
