Ralonda Simmons is a singer and wordsmith who’s passionate about art and freedom. She enjoys yoga, writing, learning, teaching, and traveling. She’s currently working with young writers and singers in conjunction with various non-profits in her local community. She (and her cat, Chaplin) live in the Denver metro area, but may be coming to a poetry venue or bookstore near you.

Creative Non-Fiction
There you are. A dirty room. Un-brushed teeth, unwashed flesh, under eye circles. No energy, no focus, no future. Just a present filled with wrenching loneliness and no clue what to fill it with. But this time you should know better, it says. You've seen the light before.
Rejection stinks. It's been scientifically proven that the pain of rejection is physical, as well as emotional. It has the potential to ruin one's self-esteem and shake the confidence of a narcissist. Why would anyone willingly forsake their comfort and self-regard in order to be rejected?
