Missy (Melissa) Van Hyfte

Health & Wellness Writer

United States

Welcome!

I'm a health and wellness writer specializing in nutrition, health coaching, diet culture, rural living, plant-based lifestyles, women's health and women's running. I blend my BA in Creative Writing and MS in Nutrition Education to create engaging, evidence-based pieces that are easy and entertaining to read.

My background in journalism makes me naturally curious and resourceful. I'm also a Board Certified Health and Wellness coach which amplifies my ability to dig deeper into interviews and personal stories. Living in the rural, Upper Midwest has cultivated my persistence, relentlessness and reliability. And because I grew up on a dairy farm, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty from time-to-time.

Thanks for stopping by!

I'd love to connect with you, so please drop me a line at:

Noom: It's a Diet

Noom’s clever marketing strategy has kept us wondering if it is really a diet or not, but their identity is no mystery to them. They are a diet. They are also a learning app with real, live, certified coaches. Even though cabbage soup and grapefruit are not required for success, “Noomers” can feel free to eat as much of them as they want.
