✨Backstory✨
In 2015 I graduated East Carolina University with a degree in Animation and Interactive Design. *Emphasis* on the Interactive Design - because I've never pursued a career in animation. It was during these 4 years of university that I found my passion and love for computers and programming.
After graduation, I landed a role as a marketing specialist where I learned the basics of social media management, paid and traditional advertising, and used my very first spreadsheet to track marketing metrics. I continued my professional growth as a marketing coordinator where I dived into the deep end developing and implementing content marketing strategies, Google Analytics and Ads, and implementing SEO strategies for websites and eCommerce platforms like Amazon and eBay.
On the side, I dabbled in freelance work, helping clients develop and implement social media strategies, and understand their key performance indicators (KPIs).
Today, after 6 years starting my journey in marketing, I work as a Marketing Analyst where I specialize in trend research and analysis, develop and implement SEO strategies, and create comprehensive KPI dashboards to present to key stakeholders using tools like Microsoft Power BI.

The pandemic signaled an ah-ha moment for me professionally. I finally decided that I didn't want to work in the corporate world forever. I love working from home! I enjoy the flexible schedule, not having to commute, and being able to vacuum whenever I please. But here's the thing - many corporations are now asking their employees to come back to the office, and some are even requiring it.
I'm thinking, that's a *no* for me.
