My name is Leelee Puthumile Ngwenya, I work in Zambia as a freelance writer for various magazines, I also have experience editing a digital magazine 'The Alchemist', hosting Radio and Television. I work as a Social Media Strategist & Content Creator helping to create programmes or messaging for digital, TV and Film. More recently I was a Director on a half hour Drama series Amooye on Zambezi Magic. In addition I host a podcast "Conversations with Leelabee".
I enjoy the art of storytelling and promoting art through my writing. I believe that it is my calling to start or open up conversations in our communities, I am part of something greater. I am doing this whether I am writing a TV script, hosting a show, directing TV, creating an advertising campaign or presenting on radio.

37d Gallery and The stART Foundation's recent exhibition A Photographic Perspective of Zambia is unique. It featured photographs from five European ambassadors and 19 award winning photographers from Discover Zambia. It was a sight to behold as it was the perfect mix of the wildlife, landmarks, people, places and ceremonies of Zambia taken from the perspective of locals and expats.
As Managing Editor of The Alchemist sometimes I was fortunate enough to hoard an article to myself. Such was the case when I purchased Agnes Yombwe's book "Kudumbisiana" and saw her work, I immediately fell in love. Her work covers taboo topics (more so in Zambia) such as homosexuality as well as feminism.
