Remembering 9/11: 25 Years Later
A personal reflection on the day that changed America, a generation, and the course of my own life forever.
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my page!
Allow me to introduce myself. First and foremost, I am a wife, a stepmom, a dog mom, a cat mom, a twin (fraternal, don't go looking for someone who exactly resembles me, believe me, one's enough!) a podcaster, a writer, a singer for the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) and Sweet Adelines International (SAI), a journalist (someone who loves to journal, although I started out as a journalist, more on that later), and last but certainly not least, a weather enthusiast and cloud nerd.
I have been producing content for over 20 years so please feel free to browse some of my work. These particular pieces were written between the years 2011 - 2026.
Note: For anything written prior to 2018, the byline will be my maiden name, which is Laura Canter.
Many others have been lost over the years due to website redirects, acquisitions, or past companies just simply shutting down.
Now to get into the nitty gritty of my career, I am:
* A Results-Driven Content Producer
* A Marketing Team Leader
* A Prolific Short-Form and Long-Form Copywriter
* A Meticulous Copy Editor
* An Avid Social Media Manager
* A SEO and Metadata Expert
* A Self-Taught HTML Coder

There's something I want to say to all the job seekers out there:
People, please help me out with something: when did we decide as a society that it's no longer necessary to precede a word that begins with a vowel with the article "an" while speaking?
And the company sides with toxicity rather than fixing the problem.
An elder millennial's struggle with optimism in a world that keeps proving the cynics right.
How a meteor-born gemstone became the modern symbol of luxury.
This is a brochure that I wrote the copy and designed the layout for as a marketing asset to promote the Sweet Adelines Chorus, the Dogwood Blossoms, a 501c-3 nonprofit organization. It was distributed at the Chamber of Commerce and other locations in and around Knox County, Ohio to raise awareness, visibility, and recruit new members.
