HOLLIE M’GOG was born in Kenya and currently travels the world. She has published a non-fiction about the Zambezi River (Where Crocodiles Roam) and is working on a creative non-fiction trilogy about a boda-boda driver in Uganda as well as on a few more children’s books. She writes for travel and wildlife magazines in-between times, as well as safari guiding, teaching wildlife based University courses and expedition leading.

Kibale Forest in Uganda offers an activity that cannot be paralleled anywhere else on the African continent. There are two forms this activity can take; chimp trekking and chimp habituation. Habituation is frequently repeating a stimulus in order to diminish a physiological or emotional response while trekking is the more frequently conducted exercise, an exercise in capturing bite-sized wilderness experiences that simply cannot match the experience of habituation.
