Crystal is a communications specialist with Harris County Precinct 4. She has experience answering media inquiries and developing content for both digital and print pieces. Her primary duties including developing content and laying out a monthly and two quarterly newsletters. Some of her accomplishments include developing Precinct 4's written style guide and more than doubling readership for Precinct 4's e-newsletters. Her long-form stories have been featured in Update and Precinct 4 Times. She is also a former web and print journalism reporter for the Cypress Creek Mirror, a Houston Community Newspaper covering the Cy-Fair, Champions and Klein areas. Crystal has covered both hard news and feature stories and has interests in education, local politics and human interest stories.
Previously, Crystal worked as a marketing/communications assistant at the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, where she edited executive biographies, took and edited photos at Council events and wrote and distributed press releases.
She has knowledge of Cision PR Software, AP style, Photography, Social Media (Facebook, Twitter), Photoshop, Microsoft Office and CMS.

Industry experts are saying Houston is in a unique position to benefit from the country's natural gas boom. With the Port of Houston undergoing a $150 million dredging to allow bigger ships to dock, the port has been identified as the site of a potential liquefied natural gas terminal that could bring prosperity to the area, said Congressman Ted Poe, during the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce Economic forum.
"Growth is going to slow down," he said. "We're not going to grow at the same pace we did the last two years." However, the slowdown means Houston can focus on fixing its infrastructure, housing and freeways, after unprecedented growth, he said.
