Cultural and Social Commentaries
I have recently graduated from The American University of Cairo with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing. After years of self-discovery and searching, I finally realized that writing is my true passion. I am currently seeking internships and work.
Social commentary, travel, culture, and food writing are my main interests yet I also enjoy tapping into my imagination to create works of fiction whether novels or short stories as seen in my work below.
Cultural and Social Commentaries
A different take on Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal".
A satirical attempt at unpacking the absurdity of Egyptian Weddings.
An in depth examination of Egypt's future generation.
People and Places
A conversation with my bawab (slang term for Egyptian house guard), Am Hamdy.
A glimpse into the streets that meander from Cairo's Tahrir Square.
Alexandria through the duel lens of a mother and her daughter.
A food blog devoted to showcasing all the different types of food and restaurants I was exposed to and everything I learnt along the way. I hope it will provide young Egyptian foodies and travel buffs inspiration to incorporate some of these ideas into restaurants, establishments and dishes in Egypt.
As an Egyptian TCK (Third Culture Kid), born and raised in Jeddah and currently living in Cairo, I believed it was apt to discuss the phenomenon of TCKs through a podcast.
Works of Fiction
The first chapter of an autobiographical fiction called Pink or Blue about a gender non-binary teenager in a constant conflict with her strict, domineering Saudi father.
A short story about a teenage boy, his struggle with social anxiety and how he tackles it with the help of his flamboyant imaginary friend.
