Emily Allen is a seasoned writer and journalist with over 25 years' experience writing for numerous outlets including the Discovery Channel, Chicken Soup for the Soul and the Kansas City Star. Her PR magic has garnered placement in hundreds of outlets including the New York Times, Washington Post and Forbes. She's won scores of awards for her writing, photography, marketing, and newspaper and magazine editing from Apex, Nebraska and Missouri Press Associations, International Labor Communications Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.
Over the years, Emily has held a variety of positions including communications director, programs director, reporter, writer, managing editor, public relations manager, newspaper editor and crackerjack freelancer. She's also the founder of Kansas City Walking Tours.

Every two years IAAP sends a benchmarking survey to members. Emily wrote the questions and the publication sent to members.
During a restructure at IAAP, members wondered how they'd continue to connect. To meet the need for face-to-face contact, Emily and her team created an easy "happy hour in a box" event.
