Journalism
Confusion, embarrassment and an overwhelming sense of disappointment are all emotions people associate with their first time. This isn't the case however, when it comes to discussing the first time you fall in love with a video game, especially if that game happens to be Pokémon Red/Blue.
I like Oxfordshire - I like it very much. Other than my time at University, I've never lived anywhere else, but that's never really bothered me. Despite the constant presence of David Cameron's oddly soft looking face (he's my MP you see, and he never pisses off), the Cotswolds are a fairly lovely place to be.
There are a collection of images that seem to be indelibly linked to the phrase "traditional British folk music"": drizzly village greens populated by small groups of old men morris dancing while their families cower under umbrellas and look a bit embarrassed, blokes with unfortunate facial hair irritating the patrons of pubs with badly-tuned guitars, strange willowy women with over-the-top "ethereal" voices.
My "passionate and reasoned argument" for the meaning of local history
Few events have shaped the history of this country as much as the First World War. As we reach the 100th anniversary of its outbreak, there has been heightened focus on the re-telling of the war. But the historical facts only offer part of the story; the individual stories of the people involved are what bring the war to life.
