Sumit Karn is the founder of Pacific Willow; a social enterprise based in Washington State founded to further enhance the accessibility of opportunities for students/youth globally.

Recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship 2012 - 13 sponsored by U.S. Department of State; Mr. Karn has always tried to resolve social problems through different channels either it is writing for newspapers, working for different non-profit organizations or doing street plays.

"My reporting passion mainly concerns with the society where I would be able to make awareness and understanding between mass. I want to do reporting related to the development and success of a community. Such kind of reporting which will obligate those ministers, bureaucrats, and other government officials to work for the betterment of society." says Mr. Karn.

Previously, Mr. Karn has worked for several newspapers; The Daily Herald (Everett, WA), The Clipper (Everett, WA), and Chuathi Duniya (New Delhi, India) are few of them.

Besides his journalistic aspects, he has mentored, collaborated and worked with non profit organizations such as; United Way of King County, Manzil (New Delhi, India), Center for Development Orientation & Training (Patna) etc. At CDOT, Mr. Karn was assigned to manage Health & Sanitation program(Ananya 3SI) in Bihar, which was funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and technically supported by Population Services International, USA.

"I want to use journalism and activism to bring positive changes in the community." says Mr. Karn.
