Richard Powell is an expat Canadian freelance writer/photographer. His articles and stories have appeared in local and international magazines and websites. He writes both fiction and non-fiction. Richard’s history travelogues of Stane Street. a Roman Road in England and the Sussex Coast Road were published in 2021 and 2024. They combined his passions for photography, writing, research, culture and history. Richard has serialized these books as YouTube videos. He has also published the Mike and Valerie mystery thriller series about a young couple solving murders in 1940s England.
Drawing on his early life as an IT Analyst, Entrepreneur, Curios Shop Owner and Publican, Richard is now applying his enthusiasm to the island of Cyprus where he lives with his wife in a traditional village, uncovering more stories of long-forgotten places and events. He can often be found on the Cyprus back roads taking pictures and videos for his next travelogue or YouTube video.
