Journalism & Writing Student / Minoring in Sport Management and Business

Location icon United States

Since I am a little boy, I am annoying my parents and friends during live sports broadcasting events because I cannot stop speaking, wishing to be the commentator myself.
Earning a Journalism & Writing Bachelor’s degree at Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) this May, I am looking for the next step to prepare myself for a great career in the world of sports journalism.
Throughout my career at Eastern Nazarene College (ENC), I have completed internships at some of the biggest broadcast and print departments in Europe, always with a focus on sports. I gained skills in preparing TV news pieces, creating and publishing social media content, and writing sports articles. Alongside I was able to improve my organizational competence to deliver on time. Working in journalism crews, I was able to advance my social skillset for teamwork and interviewing personalities.
As the Director of the school newspaper “Veritas News,” I learned how to coordinate, lead, and improve a small newsroom. Now, I want to deepen the skills that I have learned since August 2016.
Even though I am a college athlete, I always seek academic excellence, which is reflected in my GPA of 3.956. However, I believe that theory is not everything, which is why I completed several internships in the past. Last school year, I even added Sports Management as a double major; just to be able to do an internship as a writer at the US sports magazine NGSC Sports.
I am familiar with traditional and modern news platforms, which provides me with the skills to succeed in and enrich various departments and stations. Traditional media, such as print and TV, have my support. In English as well as in German, I am a passionate writer. Also, I am a reporter for the school newspaper since my sophomore year. Additionally, I wrote several sports articles for NGSC Sports and the German sports magazine BILD. Moreover, I loved to prepare news pieces for the TV at the ZDF, Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (a public TV channel in Germany).
Traditional media should not be neglected, but I believe that electronic media is the future. Regarding electronic media as the future of journalism, I already know how to prepare and upload different types of social media posts, having worked at the Britsh-German broadcasting company SKY and being the founder and presenter of the social media news show at my college.
I am always forcing myself out of my comfort zone, which is one reason why I decided to study in the United States instead of Germany. I am an ambitious, talented, and communicative young journalist, willing to learn and enhance my skills.
