On any given night in Richmond, theatergoers can choose among shows offered by the region's more than two dozen production companies. It's an exciting time with a healthy crop of shows providing audiences with a variety of theater experiences. What the average ticket-holder doesn't see is the journey taken by a show to that stage.

Man Who Lost Arms Paints at Target to support family - Health Journal

It started as a Facebook post that went viral - at least by Hampton Roads standards. Officer Greg LaRose of the James City County Police Department posted a status, along with four photos, and told a story: A story about a painter named Chuck Dickerson, who lost his arms in an electrical accident almost 30 years ago, who kept painting after the accident and now sells his oil paintings in a Target parking lot to provide for his family.

In 1939, author Ernest Hemingway crossed from Florida to Cuba in his boat, setting up a semi-permanent residence there for the next 20 years. He loved the culture - the people, the cigars and the food. "Papa" Hemingway wrote some of his most famous works while living on the island, which sits 90 miles south of Miami in the Caribbean Sea.
