Quidditch is a fast-growing, mixed gender, full contact sport played across the world. The game can look baffling to newcomers, with up to 5 balls active at once, 4 on-pitch positions and the necessity for players to hold a broom between their legs at all times!

Halls Tournaments Brings Students Together - Sports

A total of three Halls Tournaments took place across the first semester, with over 100 participants! In Semester, we hosted special tournaments exclusively for halls only in dodgeball, netball and football. There was a total of 136 participants across the different sports. Congratulations to our winners: Rees Halls, Unilife and Trafalgar Halls!

Strikers Quidditch Opens Training to Community

With quidditch in the UK adapting to take on more community players, Strikers Quidditch in Portsmouth are opening up to non-students this season. Portsmouth's team, the Horntail Strikers, placed 19 th at this year's British Quidditch Cup after coming 3 rd in the Consolation Bracket at the tournament in Rugeley.

Film production students start up filming company

Two BA (Hons) Film Production students from the University of Portsmouth's Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries have spent their summers in Portsmouth working on a variety of professional film projects. The duo have now formed the filming company Kinolux. Dominic Cox and Dennis Griscenko are about to enter their second year of the undergraduate course.
