Imam Wisaya Surataruna

Managing Editor, Copy Editor, Writer, and Singer/Songwriter

I accidentally stumbled upon the worlds of journalism and literature by mistake. I am a musician and an editor, with my last full-time occupation manning the managing editor seat for a city lifestyle magazine in Jakarta, which I did for 3+ years. Prior to that, I was the deputy editor of another city lifestyle magazine, yet in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Currently, I am a freelance copywriter, copy editor, managing editor, editor, translator, writer, etc - you get the gist.

Music-wise, I've been fronting an indie-rock/dream-pop called lightcraft ever since we got together during our time in college. With two albums, two EPs, a mini CD, and a cassette under our belt, we've performed at festivals and on stages in the UK, the USA, Canada, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Our most recent forays abroad saw us represent Indonesia at SXSW (South By Southwest) 2017 in Austin, Texas, USA and also at V-Rox 2017 in Vladivostok, Russia.

Personally, I'm in my early 30s, am a music enthusiast and football (soccer) lover, resides in Jakarta, Indonesia, and yearns for global peace and harmony.
