Gary Lapon grew up in Western Massachusetts, where he spent several years engaged in activism, freelance journalism and opinion writing. His work was published in the Rainbow Times, Socialist Worker, Dissident Voice, and Counterpunch. Gary recently moved to New York City, where he continues to write for Socialist Worker. His articles have also appeared in the Indypendent and at ZNET. He contributed to 101 Changemakers, a textbook for middle school students recently published by Haymarket Books.
