STYLE GURU STYLE: Tommy Thigh Highs

As I've probably mentioned before, my leather jacket is something I cannot live without. Leather, whether it's pants, a skirt or a jacket, will always give your outfit an edge. Naturally, when I see leather in a runway show I'm drawn to it since I feel like I can incorporate the trends into my everyday looks, and that's exactly what happened with the Tommy Hilfiger fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection.

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Staple Pieces

I'm sure most of you can relate to the struggle of shopping on a budget. It's the absolute worst. Throughout the years though, I have always wanted to make the most out of the money that I could spend.

WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

I think we can all agree that some of the best things in life are dressing up and food. Brunch seems to be the new "it" meal nowadays, and if that means it's acceptable to eat an extra meal throughout the day, I'm on board.

STYLE GURU BIO: Susana Galindo

Allow me to re-introduce myself; my name is Susana Galindo, and this is my third and last semester as a Style Guru as I will graduate this December. I'm studying public relations at Georgia State University and someday hope to be my own version of Kelly Cutrone (shout out to all The Hills fans out there).

STYLE GURU STYLE: Balmain Blues

Whether it's a collaboration with H&M or any runway collection, Balmain never fails to make me fall in love with their pieces. They managed to do it again with their Balmain resort 2017 collection. In this collection, Balmain had a color theme of royal blue, olive green, orange tones and black.

STYLE GURU BIO: Susana Galindo

Hey there Fashonistas/os! My name is Susana Galindo, and I love food, lipstick and clothes. As I mentioned in my previous bio, my interest in clothes started from a young age as I made clothes for my Barbie's more than I played with them. Also, I distinctly remember my mom NEVER dressed down for anything.

WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Let's be honest; nobody enjoys summer school. It's one of those things that you do because you have to, but never by choice. I understand that most of us would rather be by the pool instead of dressing up for class. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: a simple outfit can still be a great outfit.

WHAT TO WEAR: Class

By now the semester is up and running, tests are starting and procrastination has begun. This often means not enough sleep and abusing the snooze button as much as possible. Unfortunately, the tiredness and laziness that comes along with that often cause us to slack on what we wear.

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: White Sneakers

The white sneaker trend took over last year, and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere for 2016. Among other things, adidas'' marketing strategy to re-launch their Stan Smith sneaker may have started this trend. The shoe has been around for over 50 years and has made quite the comeback.

ALL IN THE DETAILS: Double Denim

If you've ever been to Georgia, you know that the weather is incredibly bipolar. If not, just know that sometimes it can be freezing, hot, raining, snowing and sunny all in a matter of 24 hours. Although we haven't gotten over the sweater weather in the morning, some afternoons still aren't cold enough to be too bundled up.

STYLE GURU STYLE: Striped

Alexander Wang celebrated his 10th anniversary this past September when he showcased his ready-to-wear spring 2016 collection on the runway. His collection consisted of a lot of street inspired pieces. According to Vogue, he perfectly captured the downtown cool girl style. His pieces included denim, leather, stripes, pajama silks, crop tops and fringe.

STYLE GURU STYLE: Saint Laurent Leopard

Saint Laurent's 2016 pre-fall collection was the perfect blend between grudge and vintage. Saint Laurent has been a dominating force in the fashion industry for over a few decades now, and it never falls short of greatness. Designer Hedi Slimane showcased his men's pre-fall and part of the women's pre-fall collection this February.

ALL IN THE DETAILS: Accessories Matter

Whenever I'm on campus there are always the very flashy and trendy students that work hard on putting their outfits together every day. A lot of times, it's easy to just look at these types of people for fashion inspiration. Sometimes, though, I find that simple and effortless looks end up looking more authentic.
