Damaris A Bonarrico

Location icon United States of America

My name is Damaris A. Bonarrico, and I am graduate from the University of Central Florida. I graduated in May of 2019 as a Writing and Rhetoric major and an Anthropology minor.

Did I always wanted to be a writer? No, but I always knew I was meant to be one. I tried many things in my career, such as Biology, Nursing and even Entrepreneurship. Not that I failed in any of those fields, but I did not get the fulfillment that I get it from writing.

Throughout my childhood, I would write sketches for my dad's radio show and would perform them with my friends. As I started getting older, my passion for writing started to increase. During high school, I composed a play which was performed by the drama department. I did not do any of these things to complete a writing career, but because I knew I was good at it and it made me feel good and happy.

It wasn't until 2017 when I realized what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: write. I switched my major from Biology to Writing and Rhetoric, and started to exercise my gift from there on. I was able to get an internship with the Osceola News-Gazette and pushed myself to graduate almost a year before estimated time.

Soon I will be relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada and using my talent and skills with the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Some people might think of writing as a lost art, since we live in a world full of visual technology, but I don't. I think of writing as the way we think, the stories we have to tell and the souls we wish to reach.
