Connie Springer has written for Citybeat, Hyde Park Living, Taste Magazine, Ohio Edible Valley, and ESL Magazine. Her freelance photography focuses on the human interest themes of adoption, aging, children, and multicultural diversity.
Springer received two City of Cincinnati Individual Artist’s Grants to help fund creative projects. In 2002 she exhibited and published OUR FAMILIES: A Celebration of Adoption, a body of work interviewing and photographing adoptive families (she is the mother of three children through international adoption).
In 2009 Springer produced an exhibit, POSITIVELY NINETY: Interviews with Lively Nonagenarians, exploring active nonagenarians (those in their 90s) in oral history-type narratives and photographs. The exhibit has been viewed in seven Cincinnati-area venues and is available as a traveling exhibit. Springer also produced a book, POSITIVELY NINETY, based on the exhibit.
