Local organizations join Habitat for Humanity during National Women Build Week

Volunteers from several local organizations joined Habitat for Humanity of Wood County for Women Build activities last week. National Women Build Week (NWBW) is a nationwide partnership with Lowe's that supports Women Build programs in hundreds of communities across the nation. Lowe's donated nearly $2 million this year to various Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

Plans for Habitat House in BG to be revealed

Habitat for Humanity of Wood County will unveil build plans for its first Bowling Green home at Name that Tune Wednesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. at Campus Quarters. Name that Tune is a live, interactive game show which tests the audience's knowledge of music from the 1950s to present-day.

Attorney General discusses proposed hospital merger

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey gave an address on the proposed hospital merger Thursday afternoon in the County Commission Chambers. The merger, which was announced in August 2014, would join Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary's Medical Center. The Federal Trade Commission issued an administrative complaint in November 2015 citing fear of a monopoly.

13th Annual Empty Bowls raises funds for Facing Hunger Foodbank

Huntington's 13th Annual Empty Bowls event took place Friday at First Presbyterian Church. The event, which began in 2003, serves as a fundraiser for the Facing Hunger Foodbank.
