Gainesvillista: How to Look Effortlessly Cool at a Music Festival

The dog days of summer are fondly known for their carefree spirit, sun-soaked beach trips and sticky popsicles. And, if you don't eschew social media, television or newspapers, then you already know that summer is the heart of music festival season.

Sparkle + Shine Creative

This week, we were to design a holiday e-card that the University of Florida could send out. I began by scouring the UF Facebook page for a suitable picture to use as a backdrop. I went with none other than a photograph of UF's iconic Century Tower.

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Heck For Leather

Leather has a way of making even the saintliest of girls feel edgy. Steeped with so much character, the sole act of wearing leather speaks volumes about one's personal style. So there is no question why there has been a resurgence of the black leather trend, especially among Fashionistas.

Savor Gainesville

The hackneyed "Come as you are!" slogan is trumpeted by many restaurants, but the Top truly embodies it. Around Gainesville, the Top is known for its undeniable hipster vibe. For those out of touch, hipsters are this era's hippies. They value counter-culture, underground music and bowler hats.

WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

One of the many things that makes weekends so great is the degree of freedom one has in what he or she can wear. Whether it's a tulle skirt or a pair of neon skinny jeans, there is a higher chance that you'll wear a statement piece (or two) after the clock strikes 5 p.m.

WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

For many, the transitional period between winter and spring can be a confusing time. The weather can't seem to decide between warm and cool temperatures and you can't decide between your feather down coat and a light sweater. The sartorial indecision can be overwhelming, but there is an answer.

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Puff-tastic Topper

I think we can all agree that it has been a long winter. Between the record low temperatures and record high snowfalls, many of us have let our stylish threads take a backseat to more practical ones. Is there anyone who thinks frostbite is cute? Yeah, I didn't think so.

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Swanky Suiting

As budding professional women, we are fortunate to not be restricted to a suit and tie uniform at the workplace. Instead of collared shirts and khakis, we can still impress with stylish sweater sets. Studies (conducted entirely by me) show that patterned wrap dresses and tassel loafers are fabulous professional alternatives to the mundane.

Overlooked Fashion-Bloggers You NEED to Follow When one thinks of fashion bloggers, several high-profile monikers come to mind. From the fashion industry's standpoint, the blogger's voice is valuable as it has the capability to influence consumers and drive sales. As a result, the early innovators of the fashion-blogging industry now enjoy prominence in the sartorial world.
