Live Reviews

Live Review: Youth Man @ Hare & Hounds - 16/01/16

They may be known for the brevity of their high energy songs and intense live shows but, on my second time seeing Youth Man, I knew to expect something special from Counteract 's first show of the year at the Hare & Hounds; a hefty 5 band bill demonstrating Birmingham's diverse music scene.

Live Review: We Are Scientists @ O2 Temple, Birmingham - 27/03/16

Nearly 6 years after my first time seeing We Are Scientists and fresh from the release of new album Helter Seltzer, I was as excited as the 13-year old indie kid shouting "duh-duh duh-duh" along to ' The Great Escape ' in my head as I headed down to Birmingham's Temple.

Live Review: Young Kato @ The Rainbow (13/04/15)

On Monday night, Cheltenham's indie-popsters Young Kato headlined The Rainbow in Digbeth. Supported by The Young, and Peasant's King. By my arrival the venue was under half full, an impressive Monday night turnout.

SINGLE REVIEW: Out of Control // Lush

For those unaware, British shoegaze cult heroes recently took the indie world by surprise reforming and announcing shows at the London Roundhouse on May 16th and 17th. However to make this shoe gaze revival so sweet is to see these bands releasing new music and Lush Announced their 'Blind Spot EP' in February of this year, their first release in over 20 years.

Forgotten Albums: Enter the Wu-Tang // Wu-Tang Clan (1993)

In 1993 a group of rappers from New York, grouped under the concept of the Wu-Tang Clan, released an album that's redefined the landscape of American music and cemented Hip-hop as one of the biggest music genres and cultural movements in American history.

SINGLE REVIEW: Eagulls washout the fuzz on new track 'Lemon Trees'

In 2015, Leeds' post-punk outfit Eagulls announced they would be releasing their sophomore album this year. Today the group released a brand new single 'Lemon Trees' a maudlin pop-ballad, marking a departure from the ear splitting distortion and heavier punk influences on their debut release Eagulls.

Real Lies Contributor: Christos Makarounas (@thewalkingchris) Crows Contributor: Callum Dawson (@CalDawson93) In and amongst the neon London glow of electronic music is a young group of Poetic producers called Real Lies. The London 3 piece's debut album 'Real Lies: Real Life' is exactly that, an experimental and intricately portrayed journey through London's night life and Britain's young rave culture.

Radsound Singles of the Year 2015

Kendrick Lamar // King Kunta Singles Editor: William Carroll (@Mr_WillCarroll) King Kunta is filled with the aggression and confidence that people have come to expect from Kendrick, but is much more than a simple hip-hop song about power and authority.

Spotlight on MOAN | Radsound

MOAN 's Facebook bio consists of a short phrase, 'MOAN for me and call me daddy...', mirroring the visceral sexuality roaring through their music. Their visuals are relaxed, blasé and seductive with images of the band in bed together smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee set against a 70's neon logo.
