Coroner gives verdict on teen found dead in school toilets

A coroner has recorded an open conclusion on the death of a Polish-born teenager who was found hanged in toilets at her school after complaining that she had been bullied and called a ''stupid Pole'' and told to ''go back to your own country'' by other pupils.

Why the Barcelona attack has hit me harder than any other

Jury returns its verdict on man accused of murdering drinking buddy

A violent drunk has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted by a jury of murdering a drinking buddy amid suggestions of sexual activity between the pair. Thomas Norman, 28, of Town Mills Close in Launceston was this afternoon unanimously convicted after just two hours of jury deliberations of killing Charles MacDonald at his flat on March 9 this year.
