Twin Cities Urban Farming and Vegetarianism at Bethel

The St. Paul community is starting to embrace urban farming and gardening. Bethel University partners with the Urban Farm and Garden Alliance, where some students volunteer. Other students adopt vegetarianism or veganism. But all share something in common: Wanting to become better stewards of the environment and their communities.

By Cece Gaines, Reporter First-time business owner, Jeff Alspaugh is opening Juiced Nutrition, an Uptown juice bar late this summer. Alspaugh started his business because of his personal fitness needs.

Detox Center's Expansion Expected to Reduce Stays for Some Clients -

Photo and story by Cece Gaines, Reporter A $4 million renovation project is underway at the Hennepin county-owned 1800 Chicago Avenue detox center. The renovation will expand assistance for people experiencing acute alcohol intoxication or mental health crises. The withdrawal management program will expand the current 50-bed detox space to 65 beds and create two levels of care.

Fashion bits: Go-to clothing

T-SHIRT AND DENIM My default: a simple white T-shirt with the words "I love you like Kanye loves Kanye" on the upper right. Typically, I don't gravitate toward tacky phrases, but this one tugged a grin on my face. Recently, the shirt took a hit due to my laziness.

New furniture and new faces in campus library
