Brittany Britto

Graduate Student at Philip Merrill College of Journalism

Location icon United States

Brittany, endearingly known as Britto, puts her writing and experience to the test this fall as a graduate student at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism.

A magazine enthusiast since she can remember, Brittany has worked with the editorial departments of high-profile magazines in the District, including Washington Life and DC Modern Luxury. She has written about the best coffee shops and brunch spots in Brooklyn, and has indulged in her love for new media by working with companies like Uber and Juice Hugger, where it was her goal to build presence in the community and on social media.

Lifestyle is her forte and capturing unlikely and beautiful engagement is often her goal, fueled by her experiences as a small-city girl from Providence, Rhode Island who bounced to and from cultural Meccas like Casablanca, Hong Kong, Houston and most recently, the District.

With experience in modeling and acting, Brittany enjoys immersing herself in creative initiatives and has been featured in local fashion shows, on TV networks, including BET, and in theatre productions in the District, namely Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues. Brittany was second runner up in Miss Maryland USA 2013 and modeled in Macy’s American Icon event in Washington.

Her favorite gadgets? Her camera and a good notepad.

With a growing interest in photojournalism, Brittany's Nikon is often slung around her neck on a multicolored strap as she attempts to catch the best candids. However, that will never outdo her love for writing, or her ever-growing collection (hoarding) of notepads, journals and stationary.
